Learning Objectives for Three-Year-Olds

1. Language and Literacy:

• Recognize letters and begin connecting them to sounds.

• Practice speaking in sentences and developing conversational skills.

2. Math and Cognitive Skills:

• Understand basic counting and number recognition.

• Identify shapes, colors, and patterns.

3. Social Skills:

• Learn to share, take turns, and cooperate with peers.

• Develop conflict resolution skills with teacher guidance.

4. Independence:

• Practice self-help skills, such as putting on shoes, washing hands, and cleaning up.

 

Daily Structure for Three-Year-Olds

6:30 AM – 9:00 AM: Arrival & Free Play

Children ease into their day with a variety of self-directed activities such as puzzles, blocks, and dramatic play.

9:00 AM – 9:30 AM: Breakfast

Breakfast is served, encouraging social interaction and healthy eating habits.

9:30 AM – 10:00 AM: Morning Circle Time

Group activities include songs, calendar time, weather discussions, and stories to set a positive tone for the day.

10:00 AM – 10:45 AM: Learning Activities

• Language and Literacy: Letter recognition games, storytelling, and group discussions.

• Math and Science: Activities such as sorting, counting, and simple science experiments.

10:45 AM – 11:15 AM: Outdoor Play or Gross Motor Activities

Children engage in active play outdoors or participate in indoor physical activities such as obstacle courses or dancing.

11:15 AM - 11:30 Wash Hands and Prepare For Lunch

11:30 AM Lunch Served

12:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Nap/Rest Time

A calm, quiet environment allows children to rest and recharge. Non-nappers are provided with quiet activities like reading or drawing.

3:00 PM – 3:30 PM: Snack & Potty Break

A healthy snack is served, and children practice hygiene and self-help skills.

3:30 PM – 4:30 PM: Creative Arts and Imaginative Play

Children explore their creativity through art projects, dramatic play, and music.

4:30 PM – 5:00 PM: Group Games & Storytime

Fun group activities, including games and stories, promote teamwork and reinforce listening skills.

5:00 PM – 6:30 PM: Free Play & Closing Activities

Children wind down with self-directed activities or teacher-led games as parents arrive.

Teacher-to-Child Ratio and Group Size

• Ratio: 1:10

• Maximum Group Size: 20 children
